The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to make environmental consideration a part of their decision-making process. In the case of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), wireless service providers must evaluate proposed service facility projects (i.e. tower siting) for environmental consequences. Using a combination of GIS technology and state and federal records review, Resource Controls can prepare a report that advises the wireless service provider as to whether the proposed service facility project may have a significant environmental impact, requiring further assessment and documentation to be filled with the FCC.
