Many of the projects undertaken by Resource Controls require coordination and outreach with many diverse stake holders involved with project work. Our experience with community outreach and public participation programs has included the following activities:

  • Door to door interviews with project neighbors
  • Preparing outreach plans
  • Organizing and running community meetings
  • Preparing and publishing flyers and fact sheets
  • Verbal and written response to questions and comments
  • Preparation of public notice documents required by various regulatory programs
  • Consensus building programs

A few examples of our public participation experience include:

  • Work with the City of Pawtucket as the Comprehensive Community Plan Coordinator to direct preparation of the plan elements and to conduct the Public Participation Program;
  • Work with the Towns of Burrillville, Smithfield and West Warwick and the Cities of Pawtucket and Warwick to develop public participation plan elements for transportation/circulation and community services and facilities;
  • Preparation of diverse community involvement programs for several EPA funded Brownfields projects;
  • Preparation and implementation of an extensive public participation and education program related to the clean-up of a gasoline release in downtown Dorchester, MA;
  • Preparation and implementation of public participation programs for the clean-up of a solvent release in Attleboro, MA;
  • Work with the MassDEP to organize and implement a public participation plan related to the ongoing evaluations of a City wide assessment of lead contamination issues in Taunton, MA; and
  • The publication of hundreds of public participation documents for waste disposal site clean-ups that we have competed throughout Massachusetts.
