This Storm Water Improvement Project was under taken as a component of an agreement between the land owner and a national petroleum distribution company as a result of a release of petroleum hydrocarbons at the site. The objective of the project was to improve storm water management systems within the release area to eliminate infiltration of petroleum into the system and preferential migration of petroleum along the system pathway. To the degree possible, improvements were also designed to provide sufficient grading to allow for free flow of storm water runoff from the project area, to minimize standing water within the drainage area serviced by system improvements, and to eliminate flooding and to allow for full use of existing buildings and paved areas.
