Engineering:
Utility Upgrades & Design |
For over 25 years we have been heavily involved in engineering design and construction of a wide range of utility upgrade and installation projects including water supply and distribution, wastewater collection systems, pumping stations and water and wastewater treatment systems. Our qualified, hands on team, has been responsible for town-wide sewering projects, extensions and improvements to existing systems, the elimination of infiltration/inflow and separation of combined sewers and design / installation of water and wastewater treatment plants.

Almost all of our water supply infrastructure projects have included both transmission and distribution piping work. In support of these projects, we have completed a wide range of engineering tasks including system inspections, data collection, system mapping, flow and pressure tests, performance analyses by use of computerized models such as WaterCAD, supported by AutoCAD and ArcView, engineering design of upgrades and expansions, preparation of construction documents and complete construction management services. Many of these projects also contained complicated design and construction challenges such as pipeline jacking and tunneling, traversing wetlands, and railroad/interstate highway crossings which were all successfully met.
We have also designed numerous pumping and booster stations as new components and as a rehabilitation effort. Completed designs have included all elements associated with pump station design including: system analysis and modeling, head and capacity evaluations, pump selection and operation, pressure relief valves, chemical treatment, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, variable frequency drive options, emergency power generation, control systems, operation and maintenance issues, and site protection to name a few.
