The Pawtucket Redevelopment Authority retained Resource Controls to perform a Brownfield’s remediation of a former manufacturing facility. This project included the demolition of the exiting buildings, management of hazardous materials, removal of contaminated soil and construction of an environmental cap. The property now awaits redevelopment as open space and office space and is no longer a blight impeding the redevelopment of the area.

The Town of Barrington retained Resource Controls to assist in the evaluation of the potential purchase of the campus. Resource Controls evaluated the conditions of the buildings (estimating repair and maintenance costs), the presence of hazardous building materials such as asbestos and PCBs and the potential for subsurface contamination.

Based on the comprehensive cost opinion provided, the Town of Barrington was able to make an informed decision regarding the purchase of this property.

The North Smithfield Department of Public Works retained Resource Controls to assist in the management of subsurface releases from former vehicle fueling system and hydraulic lifts used for the maintenance of the Town’s equipment. Resource Controls was able to design a remediation approach that resulted in minimal down time and increased versatility in the maintenance area with the addition of new equipment.

Open Doors

OpenDoors Brownfields Remediation
Providence, RI

OpenDoors, a non-profit agency, received an EPA Brownfields Grant to remediate their 485 Plainfield Street property. Resource Controls provided consulting, reporting, and construction management services that resulted in a successful mixed-use redevelopment to commercial office space and residential housing.
