Front Street Cleanup
Pawtucket, RI
The Pawtucket Redevelopment Authority retained Resource
Controls to perform a Brownfield’s remediation of a former
manufacturing facility. This project included the demolition of
the exiting buildings, management of hazardous materials,
removal of contaminated soil and construction of an
environmental cap. The property now awaits redevelopment as open
space and office space and is no longer a blight impeding the
redevelopment of the area.

Light Pole Assessment at Hank Soar Field
Pawtucket, RI
Following a heavy storm, light poles at the Hank Soar Field fell. Resource Controls conducted visual inspections of the bases of all of the light pole facilities and identified potential failure concerns
in a comprehensive report.

Cogswell Tower at Jenks

Resource Controls was asked to perform an in-depth inspection of the deterioration of Cogswell Tower at Jenks Park. After an analysis of the damage, Resource Controls designed and prepared plans for a historically-accurate restoration and provided engineering assistance during construction.

the family development. The services included evaluation, design,

Resource Controls conducted a sewer system evaluation study and a comprehensive analysis of the existing sewer system within the family development. The study included CCTV, flow monitoring, manhole inspection & rain gauging.

Cole Street Bridge Fire Pawtucket,
RI
Resource Controls responded to the emergency fire at the Cole Street Bridge (which spans over an Amtrak mainline) and provided oversight during temporary repairs. Resource Controls was then retained to negotiate with Amtrak and develop demolition plans for the bridge.

The existing concrete plaza at the Ryan Center suffered from differential vertical movement. Resource Controls undertook a study which focused on the soil & watertable, then provided Engineering & Construction services for rehabilitation.

Zion Bible Site Assessment
Barrington,

The Town of Barrington retained Resource Controls to assist in the evaluation of the potential purchase of the campus. Resource Controls evaluated the conditions of the buildings (estimating repair and maintenance costs), the presence of hazardous building materials such as asbestos and PCBs and the potential for subsurface contamination.
Based on the comprehensive cost opinion provided, the Town of Barrington was able to make an informed decision regarding the purchase of this property.

he Burrillville Housing Authority retained the services of Resource Controls to provide an evaluation of ventilation system of 10 buildings within the community and develop designed engineering plans & specifications for ventilation system improvements and upgrades.

Department of Public Works Garage North Smithfield,
RI
The North Smithfield Department of Public Works retained Resource Controls to assist in the management of subsurface releases from former vehicle fueling system and hydraulic lifts used for the maintenance of the Town’s equipment. Resource Controls was able to design a remediation approach that resulted in minimal down time and increased versatility in the maintenance area with the addition of new equipment.

OpenDoors Brownfields Remediation Providence,
RI
OpenDoors, a non-profit agency, received an EPA Brownfields Grant to remediate their 485 Plainfield Street property. Resource Controls provided consulting, reporting, and construction management services that resulted in a successful mixed-use redevelopment to commercial office space and residential housing.

Kingston Hill Bookstore Kingston,
RI
Petroleum contamination identified in soil and groundwater resulting from the historical use of the property as a gasoline filling station had remained unaddressed for many years. Resource Controls assisted the property owner in negotiations with both the Department of Environmental Management and Department of Transportation, resulting in sharing of the cost to excavate and remove over 2,000 tons of gasoline-impacted soil from the Site.
